Grayslake Central gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lakes Eagles, sneaking past 6-4. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 5-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ann Wolff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits.

At the plate, Grayslake Central's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Reese Comerford, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

The win got Grayslake Central back to even at 8-8. As for Lakes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grayslake Central will welcome Grayslake North at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season. As for Lakes, they will face off against Wauconda at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
