Softball Recap: Delta Comes Up Short

Delta extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-10. They lost 11-1 to the Patrick Henry Patriots. The Panthers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Delta saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mackenzie Clapp, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

As for Patrick Henry, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games.

On Patrick Henry's side, Summer James was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Mariyah Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Delta has already played their next matchup (against Toledo Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Patrick Henry, they will face off against Leipsic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.87 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
