Softball Recap: Kennard-Dale Continues Road Dominance on Monday

Kennard-Dale came out on top against Middletown on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Rams put the hurt on the Blue Raiders with a sharp 9-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Taryn Ashenfelter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Maddie Argiro was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addie Argiro, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Kennard-Dale's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Middletown, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-3.

Coming up, Kennard-Dale will venture away from home to take on York Suburban at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Middletown, they will welcome East Pennsboro at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
