Football Recap: Del Valle Conquistadores vs. Chapin Huskies

After flying high against Jefferson last Friday, Del Valle came back down to earth. The Conquistadores were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 23-22 to the Chapin Huskies. The Conquistadores gained 75 more yards on the day, but it was the Huskies that made the best use of them.

Despite the loss, Del Valle still got an impressive performance from Jake Fette, who rushed for 221 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 13.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 151 yards and one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Dante Eytcheson, who gained 114 total yards and a touchdown.

Daveon Singleton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chapin, rushing for 149 yards and one TD while picking up 7.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 141 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Singleton was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Del Valle fell to 5-1. As for Chapin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3.
