Football Game Preview: Proviso East Pirates vs. Addison Trail Blazers + Official Tickets

Proviso East is 2-7 against Addison Trail since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Pirates will venture away from home to challenge the Blazers at 7:00 p.m. Proviso East has given up an average of 26.2 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Proviso East is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Downers Grove South on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pirates were outmatched by the Mustangs and fell 42-6. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 406th, while the Mustangs are ranked 170th).

Meanwhile, Addison Trail entered their tilt with Leyden on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Eagles 46-6. Considering the Blazers have won three matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Proviso East's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Addison Trail, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Proviso East suffered a grim 28-8 defeat to Addison Trail in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
