Preview: Mountain View Thunder vs. Kennewick Lions
Mountain View has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Kennewick Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Mountain View's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last nine games.
With a playoff game on the line, Mountain View rose to the challenge on Saturday. They strolled past Edmonds-Woodway with points to spare, taking the game 42-28.
It was another big night for Porter Drake, who rushed for 238 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Cash Cook was another key contributor, rushing for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Kennewick entered their tilt with Mercer Island with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Kennewick breezed by Mercer Island at home to the tune of 38-0. Kennewick might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven games by 34 points or more this season.
Mountain View pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.4 points per game. As for Kennewick, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
