Recap: Northside Eagles vs. Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets
The Northside Eagles lost against the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Northside took a 54-40 bruising from Thomas County Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northside has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Northside still got an impressive performance from Chastan Brown, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Kayden Taylor was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
It was another big night for Charlie Dunbar IV, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds for Thomas County Central. Dunbar IV set a new season high mark in steals with five. Another player making a difference was Abe Smith, who scored six points along with six rebounds and five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Northside and nudges their season record down to 5-8. As for Thomas County Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Northside will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Houston County at 5:30 p.m. on January 6th. Hopefully Houston County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Thomas County Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tift County at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
