Basketball Recap: Port Isabel Comes Up Short

Port Isabel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the La Feria Lions, falling 59-38. While losing is never fun, the Tarpons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1261st, while the Lions are ranked 516th).

Port Isabel's record is now 2-11. As for La Feria, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Isabel will take on Valley View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Feria, they will be playing at home against Grulla at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. La Feria is facing Grulla at the right time seeing as Grulla is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
