Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Curtis). They wrapped up 2024 with a 49-34 victory over the Federal Way Eagles. The win was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Federal Way lost on Friday, don't look at Mariame Bongono. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 boards and 11 steals. With that strong performance, Bongono is now averaging an impressive 8.8 boards per game.

Curtis' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Federal Way, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Curtis didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-22 defeat against Port Angeles on the 28th. As for Federal Way, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 44-39 loss against Sultan on the 28th.
