It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Basic can now relate to. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Faith Lutheran Crusaders on Saturday. The Wolves' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Matthew Kelley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with five stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Giron, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Basic's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Faith Lutheran, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-15.

While Basic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
