Delmar dropped their record down to 8-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Caravel Academy Buccaneers by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since May 16, 2024.

As for Caravel Academy, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1. Three seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

For Caravel Academy's part, Zayda Rocke was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Delmar and Caravel Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Delaware Rankings. The Wildcats will face off against Seaford at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (4 vs. 29). Meanwhile, Caravel Academy (ranked fifth) will meet Newark Charter School (ranked 31st) at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
