Trico has gone a perfect 5-0 against Sparta recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pioneers will face off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Trico barely beat Goreville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pioneers blew past the Blackcats 12-2 on Tuesday. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Blackcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Trico got a great performance from Lily Ebers as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Trico let Hayleigh Franklin and Emma Williams run wild. Franklin scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Williams scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Williams a new career-high. Jaelyn Kranawetter also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

The team relied heavily on Kenzie Pierce, who fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and five runs while going 3-for-6. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Stork, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Trico's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sparta, their record now sits at 6-7.
