Basketball Recap: Quentin Vogel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead More over University Prep Academy

If More was riding high fresh off their 64-27 takedown of Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The More Knights fell just short of the University Prep Academy Golden Eagles by a score of 42-39 on Tuesday. The game was a 15-15 toss-up at halftime, but the Knights couldn't quite close it out.

More's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quentin Vogel, who posted 11 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Vogel now owns an excellent 45.6% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Vincenzo Selway, who went 6 for 11 en route to 15 points.

Even though they lost, More smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

More has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season. As for University Prep Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.

More didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-43 victory against The Nueva School on the 6th. As for University Prep Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 77-47 defeat against Summit Shasta on the 6th.
