Recap: Owego Free Academy River Hawks vs. Seton Catholic Central Saints
It was a good run, but the Owego Free Academy River Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 60-42 bruising from Seton Catholic Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Owego Free Academy has scored all season.
Seton Catholic Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Johnny Hopf out in front who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Hopf continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Allan Eagles was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Owego Free Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Seton Catholic Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Owego Free Academy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against South Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on December 27th. South Jefferson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Owego Free Academy is ranked 120th). Seton Catholic Central will be home for the holidays to greet New Hartford at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
