Football Game Preview: Iowa-Grant Panthers vs. Riverdale Chieftains

The Iowa-Grant Panthers will challenge the Riverdale Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Iowa-Grant, who comes in off a win.

Iowa-Grant's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 43-0 victory over Boscobel. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won nine in a row.

Brock Hinderman had an outrageously good game as he threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns on perfect 10-for-10 passing. His passing game has become a key predictor of Iowa-Grant's success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Landon Friesen, who picked up 61 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Iowa-Grant's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ty Cutts, Trenton Malitz, and Treaton Loeffelholz, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Meanwhile, Riverdale came up short against Black Hawk/Warren IL on Friday and fell 30-18. The victory got Iowa-Grant back to even at 4-4. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
