Volleyball Game Preview: ConVal Cougars vs. Somersworth Toppers

ConVal hasn't had much luck against Somersworth recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Toppers at 6:00 p.m.

ConVal is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Hampshire's top teams: Hanover, who was ranked tenth at the time (ConVal was ranked 11th). The Cougars came up short against the Bears on Friday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Somersworth had already won six in a row and they went ahead and made it seven on Monday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Knights.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Somersworth got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 15-10.

ConVal's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Somersworth, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

ConVal suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Somersworth when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
