Softball Recap: Heritage Academy Extends Winning Streak to Six

Heritage Academy waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Deer Valley Skyhawks.

Sieana Soltero was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gloriann Blanco, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Christina Martinez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Heritage Academy's record now sits at 11-1. As for Deer Valley, they moved to 11-3-1 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Heritage Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Horizon Honors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Horizon Honors will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Heritage Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Deer Valley, they will welcome Westview at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Deer Valley their first taste of in-conference action this season.
