R-S Central won the last time they faced Burns and things went their way on Wednesday too. Everything went the R-S Central Hilltoppers' way against the Burns Bulldogs as the R-S Central Hilltoppers made off with an 8-2 win. The Hilltoppers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.
Maeli Crain made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, R-S Central got a massive performance out of Lillie Beheler, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Madelyn Hasty was another key player, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5.
R-S Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
R-S Central pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to strikeouts: they averaged an imposing 8.33 strikeouts in those games compared to only 3.5 in the others.
