Recap: Avery County Vikings vs. Madison Patriots
You can't lose the contest if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Avery County Vikings's strategy against the Madison Patriots on Tuesday. Avery County blew past Madison 46-24. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Avery County had established a 21 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Avery County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Khloe Burleson, who scored nine points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Greer, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Avery County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Madison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
Avery County will head out on the road to take on Owen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Avery County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. As for Madison, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mountain Heritage at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Heritage will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Madison surely won't give up without a fight.
