Football Recap: Smoky Mountain Piles Up the Points Against East Henderson + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smoky Mountain). They really took it to the East Henderson Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-6 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-0.

Rylee Smith had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 120 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hampton Rhyne, who rushed for 103 yards and one score on only eight carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Smoky Mountain was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 397 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 194 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Smoky Mountain now has a winning record of 3-2. As for East Henderson, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Smoky Mountain is set to face off against their familiar foe Tuscola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Smith and Sam Trantham. Meanwhile, East Henderson will challenge rival West Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
