Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Dwight Thomas and Paris Trivillion Lead Pass Christian to Victory

Pass Christian proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 56) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the East Central Hornets 35-33. For the Pirates, this counts as revenge for the 56-7 victory the Hornets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2018.

A big part of Pass Christian's win came down to the chemistry between Paris Trivillion and his top target Dwight Thomas. Trivillion threw for 187 yards and three touchdowns while Thomas picked up 112 receiving yards and three TDs. Thomas was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 50 yards.

Despite the loss, East Central still got an impressive performance from Maddox Dunn, who rushed for 192 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 71 yards and one TD. Dunn is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 131 every time he's taken the field this season. Adrian Marsalis was another key player, rushing for 103 yards and one touchdown.

Pass Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for East Central, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Pass Christian will challenge Greene County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Trivillion and Gage Stinson. As for East Central, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Purvis at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 842 yards in their previous games.
