The biggest upset of the week belonged to North Muskegon, who took down 350th ranked Mason County Central, 48-20. Adrian Anderson threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 35 yards in the win.
The Norsemen moved up to 223 from 382 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in West Michigan. North Muskegon was able to make the jump by beating the Spartans 48-20.
Sam Powell was the best wideout in the league this week as Mike Belmonte's team beat Mason County Central. Powell tallied four receptions for 163 yards.
Jacob Marsh made the biggest impact on defense this week as Montague topped Whitehall. The senior recorded one fumble and racked up one sack.
Randy Facundo was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 134 yards on 25 carries as Hart bested Scott Briggs's team. Brandon Amstutz also contributed to the rushing game with 65 yards on the ground.
North Muskegon's Anderson and Powell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading West Michigan in both passing and receiving yards. Anderson has thrown for 454 yards this season, while Powell, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 14 catches for 304 yards. The Pirates' Facundo leads the league in rushing yards with 429.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Wildcats take on Shelby. Montague is in third place, while the Tigers are in first place.
