Softball Recap: Southeastern RVT Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Southeastern RVT, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams on Thursday. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 19-9 win the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2019.

Becca Hornung made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 18 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Lia Hayes was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Southeastern RVT's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Southeastern RVT will venture away from home to face off against Westport at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, they will host Avon at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
