Football Game Preview: Jackson Vikings vs. Monroe Trojans + How To Watch

The Jackson Vikings will challenge the Monroe Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jackson came up short against Tecumseh on Friday, falling 34-14. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Monroe fell victim to Saline and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Hornets are ranked tenth).

Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Jackson, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-4.

Jackson didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Monroe in their previous meeting back in August of 2024, but they still walked away with a 32-27 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Trojans' Collin Steele, who rushed for 77 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also threw for 159 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.
