Basketball Game Preview: Serena Huskers vs. Morris Redskins

The Serena Huskers will take on the Morris Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Serena beat Somonauk/Leland 50-37. The win continues a trend for the Huskers in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Morris hadn't done well against Sycamore recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Morris came out on top against Sycamore by a score of 70-59. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Spartans are ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Morris and bumps their season record up to 24-5. As for Serena, their win bumped their record up to 23-6.

Things could have been worse for Serena, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-32 loss to Morris in their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
