Basketball Recap: Community Christian Takes a Loss

If Community Christian was feeling good fresh off their 61-15 takedown of Varsity Opponent back in December of 2024, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Community Christian Crusaders were dealt a 76-38 loss at the hands of Gulf Coast HEAT on Tuesday. The contest marked the Crusaders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf Coast HEAT to victory, but perhaps none more so than Westin Lacey, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 24 points and three steals. Lacey's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Scott, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds.

Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Community Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-26 victory against Ruskin Christian on the 9th. As for Gulf Coast HEAT, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-55 loss against Sarasota Christian on the 9th.
