Basketball Game Preview: Broome Centurions vs. Chapman Panthers

Broome is 2-8 against Chapman since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Broome Centurions will look to defend their home court against the Chapman Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Broome has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Broome is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 74-21 victory over Greer Middle College. Given the Centurions' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Blazers are ranked 257th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Broome found their leader in sophomore Kourtney Wofford, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wofford has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Diamond Martin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Chapman waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Wolverines by a score of 57-49.

Chapman pushed their record up to 11-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Broome, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
