Lincoln High hasn't had much luck against Lincoln East recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Lincoln High will venture away from home to challenge Lincoln East at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Lincoln High lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Sioux City, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's match. Lincoln High was the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over South Sioux City on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Links.
Lincoln High saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Lanham, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Lincoln East got themselves on the board against Lincoln Southeast on Tuesday, but Lincoln Southeast never followed suit. They blew past the Knights 10-0. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Jack Ohler looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Lincoln East got a massive performance out of Carter McPeak, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI McPeak has posted since back in April of 2024. Bryson Rhodes was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
Lincoln East always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln Southeast only posted an OBP of .118.
Lincoln East's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln High, their record now sits at 2-0.
Lincoln High might still be hurting after the 17-1 defeat they got from Lincoln East in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can Lincoln High avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
