Basketball Recap: West Stanly Triumphs

West Stanly's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They slipped by the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls 79-78. This was a revenge game for the Colts: when they faced off against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls back in December of 2024, they had to take a 63-61 defeat.

South Stanly's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Woods, who posted 22 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Woods a new career-high in points. Gavyn Miller was another key player, putting up 18 points and six rebounds.

West Stanly has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. As for South Stanly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-5.

West Stanly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-47 defeat against Parkwood on the 3rd. As for South Stanly, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-36 victory against Forest Hills on the 3rd.
