Softball Recap: Irvington Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

If Irvington Preparatory Academy was riding high fresh off their 15-2 takedown of Providence Cristo Rey on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Irvington Preparatory Academy took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christel House Eagles on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Irvington Preparatory Academy of the 13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Hallie Caldwell was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Samantha Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Irvington Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Christel House, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Irvington Preparatory Academy will face off against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Irvington Preparatory Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Christel House, they will square off against Indianapolis Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles are facing the Continentals at the right time seeing as the Continentals are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
