League recap: Ruppert overpowering for Prospect in past week

West Valley league recap: 5/22/13

West Valley's top pitcher this week was Prospect's Freddy Ruppert. He struck out six batters this week.

Yerba Buena had the most successful week out of all the teams in the league, as it came away with one league win.

After surrendering only two walks in the past week, Independence remains No. 1 in the league in that category for the season, with just 78 total.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Ruppert, who turned in six Ks for the Panthers. With 45 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks fourth in the league.



Ben Frieden's .667 batting average (2-for-3) for Prospect was the best in the league this week. His average for the season stands at .456, which ranks 11th in the league. Frieden has totaled 41 hits this season.
