Basketball Recap: Tintic Takes a Loss

Tintic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 37-28 to the Altamont Longhorns. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Miners of the 50-36 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Jordan Conder was Tintic's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Mariana Pena held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. Samantha Grimstead took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Tintic's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Altamont, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

Tintic has already played their next game (against Maeser Prep Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Altamont will venture away from home to challenge Tabiona at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tabiona will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Altamont surely won't give up without a fight.
