Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Takes a Loss

Mt. Carmel lost to Marshall back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Golden Aces took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The Golden Aces have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marshall's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton McGuire, who posted 24 points. Another player making a difference was Garrett Pugh, who earned 15 points.

Mt. Carmel now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Marshall, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Mt. Carmel is taking a road trip to square off against Casey-Westfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshall, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-44 defeat against West Vigo on the 4th.
