Oakton and James Madison are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Cougars will head out to square off against the Warhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Oakton sitting on four straight victories and James Madison on eight.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but James Madison had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They blew past the Chargers 5-1. The final result isn't all the surprising considering James Madison's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 45th, while Chantilly are ranked 143rd).

Oakton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for James Madison, their win bumped their record up to 11-1-1.
