Recap: St. Johns Classical Academy Lions vs. St. Johns Country Day Spartans
If the St. Johns Classical Academy Lions were feeling good off their 72-42 takedown of the Covenant School of Jacksonville Warriors last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. St. Johns Classical Academy was beaten by St. Johns Country Day 65-26 on Monday. While losing is never fun, St. Johns Classical Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 740th, while St. Johns Country Day is ranked 353rd).
St. Johns Country Day's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elliot Graham, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Graham hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Erik Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
St. Johns Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for St. Johns Country Day, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Johns Classical Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Old Plank Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for St. Johns Country Day, they will head out on the road to take on Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
