Football Game Preview: Southern Guilford Storm vs. Southeast Guilford Falcons + How To Watch

Southern Guilford hasn't had much luck against Southeast Guilford recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Storm will host the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Southern Guilford and Northern Guilford faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. The Storm were dealt a 56-7 loss at the hands of the Nighthawks. The Storm were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.

Meanwhile, Southeast Guilford played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Northeast Guilford, falling 28-7. The matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Southern Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Southeast Guilford, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-3.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Southern Guilford has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 154.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Southeast Guilford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 247.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Southern Guilford took a serious blow against Southeast Guilford in their previous matchup back in August of 2024, falling 44-6. Thankfully for the Storm, Alexander Marsh (who rushed for 34 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
