Softball Recap: Kankakee Wins Going Away Against Rich Township

Kankakee barely beat Rich Township the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Kays were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Raptors on Tuesday. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Kays this season.

Kylie Glogowski was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Glogowski was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kylee Cunningham was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Calleigh Moody, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Kankakee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .737. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rich Township only posted an OBP of .412.

Kankakee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Rich Township, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-9.

Kankakee will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Raptors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
