Iroquois West is 2-8 against Clifton Central since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Iroquois West will look to defend their home field against Clifton Central at 4:30 p.m. Iroquois West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Iroquois West will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Milford, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. Iroquois West came out on top against Milford by a score of 7-3 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Izzy Alvarez made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Alvarez wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Fauser, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Julian Melgoza also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clifton Central). They walked away with an 11-6 victory over Momence on Thursday.

Clifton Central picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Iroquois West, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
