Recap: Holyoke Dragons vs. Y Yuma
The Holyoke Dragons lost against the Y Yuma back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Holyoke took a hard 42-24 fall against Y. While losing is never fun, Holyoke can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while Y is ranked 44th).
Anessa Colglazier and Ellie Kleve certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Colglazier scored two points along with 14 rebounds and four steals, while Kleve scored nine points along with six rebounds. Colglazier has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.
Y's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Rayl led the charge by scoring seven points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alina Moran, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Holyoke's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Y, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holyoke the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Wray at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th.
