Baseball Game Preview: Wheaton Academy Warriors vs. St. Edward Green Wave

For the second straight game, Wheaton Academy will face off against St. Edward. The Warriors will challenge the Green Wave at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

While Wheaton Academy's victory against St. Edward wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors had just enough and edged out the Green Wave 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Green Wave since April 26, 2018.

Carson Miller looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Wheaton Academy's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Brandon Kiebles and Jackson From did most of the damage at the plate: Kiebles went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while From went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. Those two stolen bases gave From a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dom Murrell, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

St. Edward is on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14. As for Wheaton Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
