Baseball Recap: Imlay City Comes Up Short

Imlay City couldn't beat Lutheran North on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Spartans lost 18-6 to the Mustangs. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Trace Dennis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Vincent Guerin was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Imlay City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-1. As for Lutheran North, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

Imlay City will venture away from home to challenge Yale at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lutheran North, they will welcome Lumen Christi Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
