            Baseball Recap: Forest Wildcats vs. Vanguard Knights        
        
		
        
        
            Forest lost to Vanguard  last Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past the Knights  5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Wildcats have posted  against the Knights since April 8, 2022.
 Noah Schoncheck made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Cash Liles, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
