Baseball Game Preview: El Camino Colts vs. Terra Nova Tigers

The El Camino Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Terra Nova Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Camino's hitters haven't had much luck over their past five matchups, but Tuesday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, El Camino came up short against San Mateo and fell 5-1.

Nicholas Jang made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, Terra Nova has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.76 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Saturday. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Carlmont. The Tigers have struggled against the Scots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Robby Derby was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of JT Snead, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

El Camino's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Terra Nova, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5-1.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. El Camino has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Terra Nova struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

El Camino came up short against Terra Nova in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, falling 6-2. Can the Colts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
