Baseball Recap: Northridge Grizzlies vs. Greeley Central Wildcats

Northridge extended their losing streak to eight on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-22 in the process. They came up short against the Greeley Central Wildcats, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-11 on Saturday.

Northridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Beau Rupp, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for Greeley Central, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-19. That looming 11-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

On Greeley Central's side, Angel Lopez-Meza made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Lopez-Meza was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Greeley Central is 2-1 when Lopez-Meza posts two or more runs, but 1-18 otherwise.

Northridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greeley Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Severance on the 12th.
