Baseball Game Preview: Lexington Eagles vs. Franklin Lions

The Lexington Eagles will square off against the Franklin Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight losses, while Franklin will come in with five straight wins.

On Saturday, Lexington didn't have quite enough to beat Little River Academy and fell 9-8.

Cade Patschke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Stevens, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Even though they lost, Lexington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Franklin made easy work of C.H. Yoe on Tuesday and carried off a 13-6 victory. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Franklin, their win bumped their record up to 13-3-1.
