Football Recap: Bucktail Comes Up Short

Bucktail extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were outmatched by Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley and fell 50-8. The Bucks were not able to make up for their loss to Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

As for Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley, their win bumped their record up to 2-4. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley found their leader in sophomore Ryan Schenfield, who threw for 126 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 63 yards and one score on only five carries. Schenfield also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making one tackle. Another player making a difference was Dawson Welch, who gained 132 total yards and a touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bucktail will face off against Keystone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley, they will take on Cameron County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
