Basketball Recap: Wilson Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

If Adams wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wilson, they should've done a better job of containing Noah Armstrong. The Wilson Wildcats breezed by the Adams Cougars to the tune of 92-50 on Tuesday thanks in part to Armstrong, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 22 points along with five boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Leighton Bruscato, who posted six points. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played.

Despite the defeat, Adams saw an underclassman step up: freshman Chris Robinson dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds. Robinson also set a new season-high mark in steals with three. Elijah Velez was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Wilson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Adams, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-17 record this season.

Wilson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-44 loss against North Mesquite on the 17th. Adams has also already played their next match (against West Mesquite), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
