Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Sundevils vs. El Dorado Golden Hawks

The Mt. Carmel Sundevils and the El Dorado Golden Hawks will face off at 2:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Mt. Carmel is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Mt. Carmel fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Escondido Charter on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. While the Sundevils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 14-9 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, El Dorado's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 66-59 to Mira Mesa.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for El Dorado, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3.

Mt. Carmel came out on top in a nail-biter against El Dorado when the teams last played back in December of 2019, sneaking past 41-39. Will Mt. Carmel repeat their success, or does El Dorado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
