The Bowdon Red Devils will face off against the Washington-Wilkes Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowdon will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Bowdon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Wilcox County 42-7. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Bowdon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua Hopkins, who threw for 208 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 46 yards. Hopkins has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Kaiden Prothro was another key pass catcher, picking up 128 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Washington-Wilkes never got on the board in their matchup back in October, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Seminole County on Friday. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 32-23.

Washington-Wilkes found their leader in freshman Mayson Mingle, who threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 65 yards and one score. The Tigers' leading receiver Shariq Meadows was Mingle's top target yet again, picking up 164 receiving yards and one TD.

Washington-Wilkes' defense made their presence known, laying out Ellis Denham six times. Caleb Norman was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three sacks himself.

Washington-Wilkes' win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Bowdon, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Bowdon has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 189.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Washington-Wilkes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 155.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
