Volleyball Recap: Sun Valley Takes a Loss

Sun Valley lost against Downingtown West back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Vanguards came up short against the Whippets, falling 3-0. The Vanguards have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Sun Valley was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 25-10.

Downingtown West found their leader in sophomore Aubrey Loescher, who had 17 digs and five assists. Loescher has been hot recently, having posted 14 or more digs the last three times she's played. Amiah Ross also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Sun Valley's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Downingtown West, they moved to 10-6-1 with that win, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

Sun Valley has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Bishop Shanahan on the 14th. Downingtown West has also already played their next match (against Kennett), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
